Anjouan company formation

Basic facts regarding Anjouan

Anjouan is an island forming part of the Comoros Islands, a group of islands in the Mozambique Channel, about two-thirds of the way between northern Madagascar and northern Mozambique. The Union of the Comoros (Comoros) consists of three islands: Ngazidja (Grande Comore), Anjouan and Moheli, and claims a fourth (Mayotte), which France governs.

Anjouan obtained Independence from France, together with the other Islands of Comoros in 1975. Anjouan then stayed independent together with the other islands of Comoros until 1997 when Anjouan declared its willingness to be independent from the Comoros. This created the beginning of the separatist crises, which lasted until 1999 when Anjouan was granted autonomous status.
